How Do I Access Library Databases Off Campus?

Answer

AUM faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students can use AUM-licensed databases, electronic journals and e-books off campus. Anyone with an internet connection may access the AUM Library Catalog without any special sign-ins.

  • If you are starting your research from the Library's Homepage, click on the Databases & Articles tab.

  • Next, either select the first letter of the database’s name or click 'Databases by Subject' and choose a subject area from the pull down menu.

  • Click on the database you wish to search. If you are off campus, you'll be directed to the MyAUM login page where you'll enter your username and password.

Once you've clicked 'Login,' a page will appear asking you to choose an authentication method.  (Duo's two-factor authentication is part of campus security requirements.  For access, you may need to have Duo installed on your phone or tablet.  For assistance with this, please contact the IT Services Helpdesk, either at helpdesk@aum.edu or by calling [334] 244-3500.)

•   On this authentication page, select whether to receive a phone call or a passcode sent to your phone.

•   Once your identity has been verified, you'll be able to access the database(s).

If you cannot connect to a database refer to the Troubleshooting Database Access From Off-Campus guide OR or call the Library Reference desk at 334-244-3649 and report the problem.
